Last weekend SILKERI participated in the 'YALLAH SHABAB' exhibition. It was the first time the organizers made such an event and they did a very professional job considering some minor details that hopefully they learned from and will improve upon next time.
The event started Friday evening and lasted all day Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10 PM. My relief failed to show up so I was there the entire time. Boy was I tired! We had a very rainy weekend but hopefully everyone showed up.
Across from me was GemStone Charms, a business owned by a young entrepreneur Shaikha who is still in high school. She makes jewelry, and head bands and is a very creative young lady. She had crowds around her table constantly.
Next to her was a dozen students from American School of Kuwait that were part of a program called 'injaaz'. It is similar to 'Junior Achievement'. They were selling ribbons that can be used for anything by people were primarily wearing them on their wrists. What was printed on the ribbon was the statement 'I'm Positive'. By purchasing the ribbon for a half KD you are making them a promise that you plan for now on to be positive. I'm pretty sure they sold at least one to almost everyone there.
Over all it was a very good exhibition, and I look forward to participating in a future one should they decide to organise another.

Intro to SILKERI
SILKERI is a unique collection of silkwear. SILKERI wear are Skin-friendly garments which are silky, flowy and feminine. Our's is the age of science and technology where there is no place for nature and natural products but SILEKRI specializes and deals in eco-friendly and skin loving garments that is why all our garments are very close to nature and are mainly made of natural products fabrics such as silk , chiffon , georgette etc. All are dipped in natural colors and dyes which are harmless to skin. SILKERI sources it’s products from India as India is known through the ages for its rich culture and heritage which is reflected in its beautiful fabrics. Most exciting of all is that the fabrics are all from vintage sari’s. Fabrics that were designed years ago and are very hard to come by today which makes them extra special. The same quality of sari silk today would cost a small fortune.
SILKERI’S star is the ‘SMART SKIRT”, the skirt that can be worn 100 different ways. But don’t be fooled by the word skirt, as the ‘SMART SKIRT’ is also a top, tunic and a shawl too! Truly a must for every woman’s wardrobe. Whether it’s to the beach or out for a night on the town, one skirt can provide your need. It’s fantastic for traveling as it’s silk fabric is lightweight and capable of giving you more than one outfit. You’ll never get caught with the same outfit as another as no two skirts are alike.
